MIBAG AG has secured another major project in the field of electromobility: For the new charging infrastructure of Busbetrieb Olten Gösgen Gäu AG (BOGG), MIBAG AG will equip a total of 36 charging points with the innovative LineDrop cable management system.

BOGG is pursuing a clear sustainability strategy: By no later than 2035, the entire bus fleet is to operate completely CO₂-neutral. The company has already been gaining experience with battery-electric buses since 2022. Building on these insights and existing ISO certifications, the next phase of fleet electrification is now beginning.

In the final expansion stage, the fleet will consist of 55 electric buses, including 43 articulated buses and 12 standard buses. At the same time, the demand for a high-performance charging infrastructure is increasing. For this reason, the main depot in Wangen bei Olten will be equipped with three charging parks. Each charging park will feature four chargers with a minimum output of 300 kW, enabling up to 12 buses to be charged simultaneously. This results in a total charging capacity of 3.6 MW.

Cable management is a key element of the charging infrastructure. For this project, a slip-ring-free solution was deliberately chosen, as it requires significantly less maintenance and is more resistant to faults than conventional systems such as cable retraction systems. This is where MIBAG’s LineDrop system comes into play. With its robust, reliable, and virtually maintenance-free design, it ensures safe and efficient handling of charging cables in daily operations.

BOGG has set high standards for the project: In addition to durable quality and flawless execution, the focus is particularly on high availability of the charging infrastructure, minimal downtime, ease of use for drivers, as well as optimized operating and energy costs.

By equipping the 36 charging points with LineDrop, MIBAG is making an important contribution to a reliable and future-proof charging infrastructure, thereby actively supporting the sustainable transformation of public transport in the region.
