Project Description

SB Trans GmbH has been committed to a clear environmental strategy for many years and continues to drive the modernization of its fleet forward. As early as 2006, the company set an important milestone for lower-emission public transport in Switzerland by introducing its first Euro 5 bus into regular service. In the following years, the entire fleet was consistently upgraded to Euro 5 and Euro 6 standards and continuously optimized with particulate filter technologies.

Another important step was the gradual electrification of the fleet: Since 2021, all service vehicles have been fully electric. In 2022, the company entered fully electric scheduled operations with three Solaris 12m electric buses.

To ensure the reliable operation of the electric bus fleet, the appropriate infrastructure was implemented: A total of 8 charging points equipped with the LineDrop system and 4 refueling satellites enable efficient and safe depot charging. Depending on the vehicle, the charging capacity reaches up to approximately 150 kW per charging point, ensuring that the buses are reliably prepared overnight for daily operation.

With this development, SB Trans GmbH demonstrates that sustainable mobility is being consistently implemented and actively integrated into daily operations.
